aloT of Poetry is a Nigerian–South African multidisciplinary poet, spoken-word artist, author, educator, and arts manager who lives and creates on Treaty 7 land. Shaped by her culture, identity, and moving between continents, she discovered her poetic voice, a voice that balances personal truth with collective stories. Her work spans social commentary, explorations of connection, identity, and presence, and performance, creating spaces for growth, empathy and shared experience.
Her debut chapbook, A Lot of People, sold out at her 2025 birthday launch and reflects her collaborative practice. Copies are available at Shelf Life Books. Her poetry and blog, Poetry and Purpose, can be found at alotofpoetry.com.

aloT of Poetry is a Nigerian–South African multidisciplinary poet, spoken-word artist, author, educator, and arts manager who lives and creates on Treaty 7 land. Shaped by her culture, identity, and the experience of moving between continents, she discovered her poetic voice—a voice that balances personal truth with collective stories. Her work spans social commentary, explorations of connection, identity, and presence, positioning poetry as a space for shared care and understanding.
While completing her Kinesiology degree at the University of Calgary, aloT of Poetry developed strong ties to the arts community, collaborating with the National Music Centre; Arts Commons (now the Werklund Centre); cSPACE; The Grand Theatre; the University of Calgary; Alberta University of the Arts; Action Dignity; the Writers’ Guild of Alberta; and the League of Canadian Poets.
Her writing has been published in Bi-Pan Magazine, F-Word Magazine, and the YYC: POP Anthology, and exhibited at Gallery@501 and the Werklund Centre Window Galleries. In 2025, she released her debut chapbook, A Lot of People, which reflects her collaborative practice. Copies are available at Shelf Life Books.
