I think one of the best ways for anything we do in life is to play the volume game, to play the game of iteration. I think it works on a lot of things very well.

If you take enough shots on the goal, one of them is bound to go in. You may say, if it’s that easy then why is it that we take such a few shots? If we just need one of the shots to work then why is it that we don’t optimise for volume and instead wait to take the perfect shot.

I came across a tweet recently which said:

“9 out of 10 startups fail, build 10 startups”

VCs are quite aware of this, and they know that just one or two of their investments must succeed for them to become extremely wealthy. Similar to this, if you are a creator, you know that it only takes one or two of your pieces of content to go viral in order to completely change the trajectory of your growth.

This logic seems fairly straight forward to me, If you want to get a job apply to lot of jobs, write lots of cold emails and cold DMs. Even if none of this works out you’ll end up learning something with each shot that’ll make your next shot better.
