Summary

Today DAOs suffer from proposal information asymmetry. Members must interact from desktop web interfaces. Most people fail to stay on top of these apps to vote on active proposals.

I am submitting this application on behalf of Abridged to fund a first step for Moloch DAO Ops development.

The goal of the end product will benefit Moloch UX by decreasing information asymmetry and increasing voter participation. This will be usable by not only Moloch, but members of any fork of the Moloch contract.

DAO Ops System Overview

History

Our team created the Signal DAO as a first step in DAO Ops early this year to test out the viability for mobile chat notifications to solve this information and access problem. After a few weeks we had onboarded more than 100 users and found membership voting participation had an 11x improvement compared to what we see in traditional Moloch DAO structures today.

Implementation

As a first step for Moloch DAO Ops, we would like to build a simple mobile notification system in Telegram. This will be incorporated into a generalized system currently only supporting Aragon.

The bot would allow any user to easily configure notifications and quick access links to events happening within a specific DAO. They will have the ability to subscribe to notifications from as many DAOs as they like.

The goal is to create an improved experience for power users to stay up to date, as well as get DAO members on the periphery involved and informed on voting events.
