My artist name, MYOHAERA, is derived from the Korean expression “Myohada,” spoken with a tone of quiet wonder. It is a word that holds a richness of meaning within a single phrase.

To me, that is what makes it so captivating. Myohada carries nuances that shift depending on context, emotion, and the unspoken layers between words. It does not settle into one definition, and in that ambiguity lies its charm.

Such expressions are not unique, of course, but this one seems to echo the nature of life itself—where subtle changes in context can give birth to entirely new stories.

In my work, I aim to reflect this essence of Myohada. You may not always grasp my intention at once, and perhaps you are not meant to. I hope instead that each encounter offers a different shade, a new feeling, or a quietly unfolding truth.

Whether it feels curious, odd, exquisite, marvelous, subtle, or even strange, I invite you to step into that ambiguity and linger for a while.

저의 작가명 MYOHAERA는 한국어 표현 ‘묘하다’를 감탄의 어조로 표현한 단어입니다. 이 말에는 '낯선, 호기심을 자극하는, 기묘한, 섬세한, 경이로운, 훌륭한'과 같은 여러가지 의미가 담겨 있습니다. 이렇게 단 하나의 뜻으로 정의 되지 않는다는 그 점이 제게는 큰 매력으로 다가왔습니다.

물론 그런 표현이 비단 이것 하나 뿐이겠냐마는, 맥락에 따라 그리고 비언어적인 요소들로 인해 전혀 다른 의미가 되어 새로운 이야기로 탄생되는 이 묘한 세상사와 아주 부합하는 표현이 아닐까 생각하였습니다.

저는 저의 작품 속에 그러한 묘함을 담아보려 합니다. 어쩌면 저의 의도를 파악하기 어려우실 지도 모르겠습니다. 저조차도 볼 때마다 다르게 해석되는 걸 만들어보고 싶거든요.
