This campaign will take place in a high fantasy JRPG-like setting with a lot of focus on sky-sailing. The world is mostly composed of an ocean covered in thousands of regular and floating islands, with a few continents dotted here and there, along with obvious remains of the ancient war that fractured the world.
You will play adventurers working for the Free Cities of Aksmar, a coalition of city-states working in unison under a democratic council. After decades of fruitful peace, tensions between Aksmar and the Empire of Nevesh have risen, and in the face of the Empire’s crushing technological level, the cities have called to your help to gather allies among the surrounding archipelagoes, investigate the Empire and prepare for the worst.
You will sail from island to island, dealing with the issues the locals might face to gather them as allies in the coming war before it goes hot. You’ll face and evade the armies and machines of the Empire so your mission goes well, and maybe throw a wrench or two into their plans. As part of the campaign, your characters will get a skyship, which will be a mobile home base where you’ll gather allies.
