Project: A banking experience tailored for the next generation spenders - Generation Z Role: Founding Designer - I was responsible for conducting user research with Gen Z users, designing user flows, and rapidly developing and iterating shippable designs Timeline: 7 Months (Jan 2023 - Jul 2023) Objective: Our primary objective was to design the MVP user experience for the teen banking app.

As the founding designer at Zywa, I was responsible for several key areas: establishing a design system, creating an initial brand experience for iteration, setting the brand's tone of voice, designing physical prepaid cards and their delivery experience, conducting user interviews, and designing end-to-end user flows and screens.

The problem statement


The Gen Z customer base was frustrated with traditional banking apps that felt outdated, complex, and disconnected from their digital-native lifestyle. They wanted a banking experience that was not only intuitive and modern but also aligned with their values of transparency, simplicity, and social connectivity

The goal was to create an end-to-end user experience and brand identity that balanced appearing "cool" without being too "edgy." Since parents would partially control their children's finances, we needed to accommodate this older generation—whose preferences contrasted with the "cool" brand experience—while still maintaining the product's financial credibility.
