본래 물 포켓몬 고등학교의 교사였지만 현재는 누나 힐드에 의해 범죄자로 누명을 쓰고 추방당한 상태. 그 어떤 누구도 찾아갈 수 없는 위험지대로 지정된 구 루네시티 터에서 방랑중이다.
어째서인지 ‘미친 마법사’라고 불리고 있으며, 전국의 용사 포켓몬들에게 노려지고 있다. 거액의 현상금과 명예까지 거대한 보상이 걸려있다고 한다.

Originally he was a popular teacher of water pokemon high school. However, his older twin sister Hild framed him as a criminal and expelled him from the region. Due to this, he is now a drifter of devastated Sootopolis City, the forbidden area.

Yuri has quiet nature. Very calm and highly stoic. He always keeps a straight face, no matter what. He always uses very polite tone when he is talking, it also means he doesn’t use rude words. Also, he speaks formally, using honorifics. Sometimes it makes him look so inscrutable. In Japanese, he uses polite “Watashi(私)” as self-pronoun.
He is quite intelligent that always think of the tactical solutions when he is in battle or any problematic situation.
He has the strong will of steel. His mentality is very strong that makes him able to endure anything he suffers, even after suffering from the cruel biological experiments when he and his twin sister in captivity by Sceptiles that conducted that experiments. He endures anything even if the situation is harsh. He is mentally even stronger than you think.
냉정한 성격. 언제나 차분하며 어떤 상황에도 동요하지도 않는다. 표정도 잘 변하지 않는 포커페이스. 상대가 누구임에 상관없이 언제나 높임말, 경어체만을 사용하며 욕설이나 무례한 언행은 없다. 일본어 1인칭은 무척 공손한 어투의 와타시(私).
머리가 무척 좋다. 타고났다. 언제나 문제를 해결할 방안을 늘 생각한다. 덕분에 웬만한 불리한 상황에도 대처가 빨라서 잘 죽지 않는다.
또한, 엄청난 멘탈갑이다. 어떤 극심한 고통에도 버텨낼 정도로 견고한 멘탈리티. 나무킹들에게 모진 고문과 잔인한 생체실험을 오랜 시간동안 당해왔음에도 정신이 무너지지 않았을 정도. 유리는 당신들의 생각보다도 더욱 더 정신적으로 강하다.
Once upon a time, Kyogre, the Goddess of the sea, felt lonely as not having any families. On the other side, Groudon and Rayquaza had a lot of Blazikens and Sceptiles as family respctively.
So Kyogre prayed for Arceus for children. Arceus nodded and gave sunlight and moonlight in two glass bottles.
When Kyogre used Moonlight on the surface of the sea at night, the egg appeared and a boy Mudkip was born.
