Presented by BuckeyeThon and The Office of Student Life - Student Philanthropy at The Ohio State University

The Youth Philanthropy Leadership Certificate is a new, 3-part offering allowing high school students the opportunity to grow their leadership skills through philanthropy. Students will learn more about themselves as leaders, how to support groups and collaborate, and how to overcome implicit biases.

Sessions

Individual Leadership

Sunday September 26th, 1-2pm - Curl Viewpoint

Students will get to learn how to apply individual aspects of the Social Change Model to their leadership. This session will cover individual beliefs, how individual beliefs affect groupwork, and the connection to philanthropy.

Bonus Session: Private OSU Tour and Q&A Panel: 2-3pm

Directly after the Leadership session, join us as we give a private tour of OSU for students along with a Q&A panel featuring BuckeyeThon students of various majors

Group and Community Leadership

Sunday October 10th, 1-2pm - Busch House Valor Room

Students will get to learn how to apply group and community aspects of the Social Change Model to their leadership. This session will cover the importance of active communication, trusting others, and how to react to differing viewpoints during collaboration and teamwork.

Bonus Session: College Essay and Resume Workshop: 2-3pm

Directly after the Leadership session, students can bring in their resumes and college essays for review and advice. Just in time for college early application deadlines!

Overcoming Implicit Bias

Sunday October 24th, 1-2pm - Ohio Union, Alonso Family Room

Students will get to learn how to overcome implicit biases and how they affect leadership. This session will cover what implicit biases are, how to react if your leader has a bias, and how biases make an impact on life and leadership.

Certification

Students will receive a Certificate of Participation for every leadership workshop attended. For attending all 3 sessions, students will receive a Certification Kit containing the following items:
