Experiences
Simulation Developer - MetaMotion X
Sep 2024 - Dec 2024, Mar 2025 - Current · Pangyo Techno Valley, South Korea
- Contract at FunctionBay was extended based on performance, continuing in the same role at its new affiliate, MetaMotion X. Led a LiDAR sensor simulation project using Unreal Engine, building the core lifecycle flow. in addition to implementing a physics-based virtual camera with CineCamera (Sep–Dec 2024).
- Analyzed and refactored core modules including DDS(Data Distribution Service)-based publish/subscribe messaging, replay APIs, and pathfinding flow. Improved the logging and event extraction system using polymorphism and for better maintainability.
- Optimized asynchronous path planning for multi-goal navigation, resulting in improved responsiveness. Implemented multiplayer synchronization using Unity Netcode with RPCs and Network Variables, including synchronizing path visualization, etc.
- Developed various UI components such as a timeline-based replay system and a settings panel with JSON synchronization. Also contributed to software engineering practices through unit testing, STD writing, and interface standardization with ICD documentation, as well as actively debugging and fixing issues identified during testing.
Backend Intern - M5ERS
Nov 2024 - Feb 2025 · Remote & San Jose, California, U.S.
- Conducted in-depth research on blockchain technologies, presented findings to the team, and developed Python-based block mining simulation.
- Designed and implemented a scalable backend architecture using Node.js with MVC and service layer patterns, while managing development tasks and sprints through Jira.
- Developed low-level C programs for UART-based communication with FPGA devices, implementing main loop control for I/O operations.
Unity Programmer Intern - FunctionBay
Jul 2024 - Aug 2024 · Pangyo Techno Valley, South Korea
- Participated in an unmanned vehicle sensor simulation project in collaboration with a defense contractor.
- Implemented UI features to visualize simulation data from singleton manager classes, including 3D-to-2D object mapping (similar to PUBG map UI), autonomous vehicle route visualization in both 2D/3D, and camera navigation UI mimicking Unity’s scene view.
- Contributed to team documentation by annotating code, creating technical diagrams, and delivering a presentation to non-CS colleagues on class diagrams, activity diagrams, and message sequence charts.
UNIX Server Operator- Republic of Korea Army
May 2021 - Nov 2022 · The 1st Logistic Support Command, South Korea
- Operated and maintained UNIX servers supporting the army’s internal intranet as a C4I operator, performing regular tasks such as security checks, log audits, data backups, and system troubleshooting.
- Managed access control for user terminals across multiple military units and served as a help desk representative to resolve software-related issues.
- Monitored and diagnosed network infrastructure, including routers and switches, while conducting routine assessments of network performance and security status.

- This contest aimed to promote South Korea's tourist attractions through immersive digital content.
- I led the development schedule while also contributing to implementation and delivering the final presentation.
- Working with teammates I had only recently met in the previous semester, we applied HCI technology developed during class, which led to a strong performance in the competition.
