The conversion of Scaled Scores to writing ages - a scale common across Assessing Primary Writing and Improving Secondary Writing

When you access the Results CSV file for Assessing Primary Writing or Improving Secondary Writing*, you will see that the results file contains a writing age for each student.

Here is a typical conversion table that we use to translate a Scaled Score to a writing age:

The scale is currently capped at 14y 1m - the highest age for which we have empirical data.

For now, this means that any Scaled Score above 575 will equate to a capped writing age of 14y 1m.
