Wortz ("the App") is a German vocabulary learning companion that helps you retain words through spaced repetition flashcards, images, and pronunciation audio. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, why, and what rights you have. It applies to all users of the App worldwide.

All your learning data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it. This includes:
This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and UserDefaults. It stays entirely on your device. We cannot access, read, or retrieve it.
Local notifications. The App schedules daily reminder notifications on your device through iOS. Notification content (study reminders, streak alerts, due-word prompts) is generated locally and is never sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time from the App's Settings or from iOS Settings.
App Group container. A small streak summary (current streak, daily progress, due word count, last-reviewed timestamp) is shared between the App and its home-screen widget through an iOS App Group container (group.com.wortz.vocab) on your device. This summary contains no personal information and never leaves your device.
Image cache. Vocabulary images downloaded from GitHub (see Section 4) are cached locally in iOS's caches directory on your device so the App works smoothly offline. iOS may automatically clear this cache when storage is low; this does not affect your learning progress.
