Hi, I’m Tarun Garg. Some people refer to me as TG - due to the initials of my name and surname. Out of Tarun and TG, I prefer Tarun, as is he/him pronouns. I’m writing this document to give you a better sense of me - my journey so far, my unique values, quirks, and cultural expectations so that we can develop the strongest relationship possible.

I truly believe that Stronger teams make Stronger progress 🥊.

• This doc would act as a single place where people can read how I function and lead.
• Setting expectations - loud and clear i.e. what and how are you expected to act in teams.
• Document and iterate on my philosophies basis feedback that I would receive from readers. And improve. Yay!

🤷🏼‍♂️ Who am I?

I’ve been at SquadStack for a very long(Sept'16 onwards) time - feeling old yet? I’ve touched and worked on all offerings via SquadStack.

Fun Fact - Current SquadStack offering was my onboarding project ;), this should give you an idea of what kind of impact you can create if things align.

I have been working in the capacity of primarily a back-end developer who is bearable in the frontend 🙈. Before SquadStack I was an intern at Dell-EMC2 and there I worked purely on frontend stuff.

💼 How do I spend my time?

My current role(as of July 22) is an "Engineering Manager". I've always loved being a leader right from my schooling days. And as a part of role+interests, I work on the following -

👩🏽‍🏫 Work-related

• Hiring & Retention - "It is my job to make sure the most talented people work for us and the bar of the team keeps on increasing". I think it’s a cornerstone of a healthy organization and touches everything - productivity, ability to meet challenges, all comes back to hiring.
• Culture - "Culture is not what is written on walls and papers, it is what is actually there on the ground and how people feel". If an org doesn’t have a healthy culture, you’ll have problems with everything from retention to knowing your true weaknesses. I’m not talking about a foosball table in the corner, I’m talking about a culture of respect, safety, and inclusion where we can all do our best work. ; Culture is not what CXO says culture is how everyone in the org performs and feels.
