Pre-requisites:

  1. If you haven’t set up SSH keys yet, please follow through these instructions on How to set up SSH Keys?
  2. You have familiarized yourself on how to Request a Compute Node </aside>

Note: This tutorial assumes that you have a job running on amd01n01 node on the cluster via Step 2 of the pre-requisites.

Step 1: Now, leave this terminal window running and open WinSCP window on your device.

Click on New Site and then go to Session Tab. Select SFTP under File protocol. Under Host name: enter amd01n01 and keep Port number as it is to 22. Enter your username inside User name: textbox and leave password field to be empty - login will be handled via ssh keys.

Step 2: Now, click on Advanced…, then go to Tunnel under Connection heading on the right hand section.

Check the box that says Connect through SSH tunnel. Enter following details:

Host name: raapoi.vuw.ac.nz

Port number: 22

User name: your_user_name

Password: leave_it_empty

Private key file: enter_path_to_your_private_key_file

Once you enter these details, click Okay and then click Login. Now, your files should be listed on the remote amd01n01 server and your data transfer will occur via a compute node.
