Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is extremely important in the success of an online business. SEO is the process of making online content rank higher in Google searches. This leads to more traffic, more sales, more revenue. But, this can be very intimidating at first. That's why I recommend Plug in SEO .
Plug in SEO is an app on the Shopify app store that does an SEO audit of your store to make sure nothing slipped through the cracks while you were creating your website. They offer a free trial as well as free plan, paid plan, and professional services. You simply install it, connect your store, and run an audit.
This is what the audit page looks like. I had to fix my headings, alt tags, and page title and meta description. Because I did not pay for professional services, I fixed everything manually but it was relatively easy thanks to their how-to guides.
My home page was missing SEO headings due to the design so I went ahead an added an SEO headings section to theme using code provided in how to page. I added a quick title, and short description of the website with a few keywords.
