-
1.5% cash back on everything
-
Actionable insights that help us reduce spend (which is not what more payment providers do)
- duplicate subs between team members, ways to save on SaaS
-
Much better card issuance than Brex
- 50 virtual cards per team member
- can set card limits daily/weekly/monthly/annual
- Eg. annual learning stipend for each FT team member or lunch card with $25 daily limit
- automatically closing cards for new SaaS (eg. close after trial to make sure we don't get charged)
- able to set categories for cards (eg. can't use for gambling, can only use for office supplies)
-
Vendor management
-
Strong slack integration
- approve new card requests in slack
- notifications for large transactions etc.
-
built in expensing feature which should replace Expensify
- smart rules for spend categorization which should eliminate a lot of manual work for accounting
- eg. if vendor is Apple Store → hardware, if Uber → Rideshare, if Square → Team meals etc.
- take photos of receipts and write what it's for
-
reimbursements directly to employee bank account via ACH
- eg. if XXX submits mileage for reimbursement, we can pay him directly through Ramp without having to plug that into payroll
- easy to reimburse people who are not on payroll (eg. candidates)
-
Minor point but Ramp's design is much cleaner and simpler
All in all, Ramp seems so much better for understanding, managing and cutting spend that Brex which seems to be all about making it as easy as possible for you to get a card and spend a lot of money
