We know many cool products out there are free. We are not.

However when you look closely, these products fall in two categories (1) products that are free; but you are the product. These products sell your attention or your data (think social networks, search engines or other cool tools) OR (2) products that are short lived, because they get acquired or shut down or run out of money.
