I'm not sure I can convince you to go out and become an agent of your own life experience and world. But what really helped me was listening to successful people talk about how rewarding and worthwhile their creations (startups, inventions, brands, etc.) were to create, out of nothing.

I was asked on a college application what I was most proud of in my resume:

I will always ALWAYS be the most proud of Reach Out. It was the first substantial thing I was able to bring into the world that resulted in a better world than before I came along. The Mars Perseverance Rover is cool and all, but that was the result of thousands of minds and years of labor. There is something especially fulfilling about identifying a problem, ideating a solution, and bringing to life something that had not existed before. As a plus, this creation I brought to life helped those I cared for most: the group of people most neglected by modern society. It not only showed me the potency of my own agency, the power of a group of people with a will to better the world, but it also invigorated my mission to alleviate poverty and ensure equal opportunity through education worldwide. Otherwise, it might still just be a lofty, untouched goal of mine, and that is a hopeless place to be.
