Here’s how the dictionary defines career:
an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with opportunities for progress
Wow. Sounds about as much fun as watching paint dry. Maybe a little bit more because a career pays out good money. Hopefully.
What happens if you throw out all the nonsense about what a career should be? What if you mix in passion and a sense of purpose? What if you’re able to feel a sense of belonging and ownership, unlike in any other type of “job” or “company”?
What if the unstated opportunity with any gig was to train you, the “employee”, and then to help you launch your own business, if that was something you wanted? What if the entire goal of the enterprise was to help actualize your potential?
We won’t live to work, we work to live. Ideally, we live to carry out our higher purpose in life, and if we can merge the two and earn a living from our true nature and talents, then life becomes a joy, and the happiness leads to success. Not just for you but for everyone connected to you.
