Context

While exploring Layer3 quests, I encountered a major barrier: wallet setup and gas fees.

As a beginner, connecting a wallet like Rabby felt manageable at first — but understanding networks, gas requirements, and how to fund the right wallet became a frustrating UX obstacle.

User Problem

• Multiple networks (Ethereum, Base, Optimism) created confusion:

  Which one am I on? Why does it matter?

• No guidance on how to fund the wallet — platforms assumed I already knew how to top up gas.

• Minimum withdrawal amounts (like on CoinSpot) weren’t explained, causing repeated roadblocks.

• Crypto jargon (bridge, gas, min, L2, etc.) appeared without onboarding help.

• Misleading “free” labels: Quests advertised as “Mint Cube for Free” still required gas fees, leading to frustration and broken expectations.

UX Impact

• Emotional frustration: “Why am I paying for something labeled free?”
• Erosion of trust due to unclear cost communication.
• Time wasted googling basic instructions.
• Risk of user drop-off because they hit gas walls and give up.
