Many of us are based in the Austin, Texas metro area, so in 2018 we opened the Proactive Talent headquarters in Cedar Park (a suburb). This provided us a home base for our local tribe members, as well as any visiting remote employees or consultants. We moved to our office in August 2018, and before that, we shared space at the WeWork Domain in North Austin.
Proactive Talent’s regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Central Standard Time. You may be required to work additional hours depending on the nature and urgency of your work assignments.
That said, we understand that some individuals may naturally be early birds or night owls, and these unique qualities affect their productivity. We believe in autonomy at Proactive Talent, and want to empower our employees with the ability to work flexible hours as necessary to do their best work. If you are interested in working outside of our regular business hours, please discuss a plan for any flexible work hours with your Principal/Manager.
Regardless of your approved schedule, you will still need to respond to urgent requests and attend required internal and external meetings that fall within Proactive Talent’s regular business hours.
Proactive Talent decided to become a remote-first, distributed team in July 2020 following the closure of offices state-wide due to the coronavirus pandemic. While most of our employees and our entire tribe of freelance consultants and contractors worked remotely at least part of the time before the pandemic, we’re thrilled at the opportunity to offer fully remote employment to our tribe.
Austin, Texas, remains our flagship and we will continue to host our annual retreats or other in-person gatherings in the ATX area as public health recommendations allow.
Employees should practice autonomy and schedule their lunch breaks during a convenient time for them during their workday. They should also feel empowered to take short breaks, as needed, throughout the day, so they return to their work refreshed.
