What is Blood on the Clocktower?

Blood on the Clocktower is a game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception for five-to-twenty courageous players and one devious storyteller.

A social game played in person, seated in a circle, each player receives either a ‘good’ or ‘evil’ token with their unique character on it. Good players share information to solve the mystery whilst evil players lie about who they are and what they know. The good team wins if they can piece together their knowledge, trust each other, and execute the demon. The evil team wins if the demon can sow distrust, evade detection, and wipe out the village.

What is Clocktower at the Beanmonger?

We’re building a space for neighbors in the Park Slope, Gowanus, and other nearby neighborhoods to come hang out, and meet each other. Brooklyn is a wonderful place, but because everyone is so busy and minds their own business (which, tbf, is preferred 99% of the time) it’s also very hard to actually meet those people you share so much space with.

This is our way of changing that.

I’ve never played, what do I need to know ahead of time?

Nothing! This game is intentionally made so that you pick up what you need to know as it comes up. We’re going to play the “base” version of the game, known as Trouble Brewing.

I’ve run many teaching games in the past and am very happy to show you the ropes.

But what if I just want to know more?

No worries, I gotchu fam. There are plenty of explainers on the internet, you’re welcome to look at any of those depending on whatever medium you prefer, but here are my suggestions:

I prefer reading…

I prefer videos…

I prefer to watch a full game…
