The best way to explore Posio is by rental car. Some people believe that driving on winter roads is dangerous. I assure you, this is not the case. In winter, the roads are regularly cleared of snow, and cars are equipped with studded winter tyres. For those who are generally confident drivers, travelling on winter roads should not be particularly difficult. Of course, it is important to follow the speed limits and take weather conditions into account. In any case, we can also organise excursions in our own vehicle.
Trips for huskies, the reindeer farm, ice climbing, and fishing are best booked in advance.

Two convenient nearby spots for a short drive are Mourusalmen Bridge on the road to Kuusamo and Lake Livojarvi.
