There are a number of methods to extract the lipids.

Incorrect assumption:

  1. pyrolysis would create a crude that would be comparable to other processes.
    1. Correction: Heat accompanies disorder and damage. Pyrolysis would produce a biocrude, but is essentially an unnecessary step as many of these organisms already have a favorable profile
  2. Pyrolysis is much simpler than other processes
    1. Somewhat true, but still requires inert atmosphere.
