Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory is an independent, nonprofit cancer research institute—one of only a small number in the country that operates without direct ties to a university, government, corporation, or hospital. This independence allows us to pursue research that is both collaborative and uniquely focused, while still partnering with academic, clinical, and scientific institutions.

Our work is organized into three main areas:

• Cancer Research – advancing scientific knowledge to better understand and fight cancer.
• Undergraduate Research Education Program (UREP) – providing hands-on training for the next generation of scientists.
• Biospecimen Repository – maintaining a valuable collection of human tissue samples to support cancer research.
