This page documents what I’m learning and working toward as I position myself for crew and engineering roles. I’m sharing the process publicly to show the work, not pretend I’ve arrived

Sailing Experience:

• ASA Sailing Certifications (Florida) – 7-day liveaboard sailing experience – Real-world coastal sailing, navigation, and seamanship – Time spent learning watchstanding, boat handling, and life aboard

Marine & Engineering Certifications:

• ABYC Certifications – Marine Electrical – Marine Diesel Engines – Marine Systems
• NMEA Certifications – Marine electronics & networking (2 certifications completed)
• Yamaha Outboard Certifications – Currently in progress

Current Work & Learning Environment:

• Marina-based work to build hands-on experience • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing real systems • Applying ABYC and NMEA standards in practice • Learning how systems actually fail in the field

Professional Direction:

• Building sea time toward Yachtmaster • Working toward AEC 1 & AEC 2 (engineering track) • Positioning for second engineer / crew roles • Combining deck knowledge with engine room experience
