What triggered the war between Amani and the Aarendjin?
The Amani civilization has always thrived on warfare, always strategizing against any perceived threat or enemy. When they learned of the existence of the Aarendjin, they began studying their race and history. One of their finest warriors was dispatched to capture an Aarendjin named Brab Taliya. Luckily for them, one of the Aarendjin, known as the "Scout Needle," was investigating the Amani civilization.
After a fierce confrontation between the two, Brab successfully captured the Aarendjin alive, becoming the subject of research for the Avari. The research process consisted of two phases:
In the first phase, they tested the extent of her powers, forcing her to fight continuously against various beasts until her magic was depleted.
Once this process was completed, they proceeded with an unusual autopsy. While she was still alive, they inspected her body to discover the source of her magic. After several days of cutting and injecting various substances to observe her reactions, they found that the root of her power lay in two power cores. Upon extracting them, the life of the Aarendjin came to an end, and her body was discarded since it was no longer of use to them. The Amani concluded that to kill the Aarendjin, they must dispose of these power cores.
The "Messenger Needle" found her sister's lifeless body and rushed to inform the rest of her kin about the tragic news. The Aarendjin prepared for war against the Amani.
The war was brutal and bloody. The Aarendjin did not expect to face enemies who could stand against them. Among the Amani warriors, Brab was killing them at an alarming rate, adapting to each battle strategy. Coupled with the large number of the Amani army, this presented a challenge they could not overcome. All the Aarendjin died except for one, Nashla, who would become the new subject of investigation for the Avari.
What caused the civil war in Amani?
For many years, Nashla meticulously planned the best strategy to recover the core that had been stolen from her. The effects of the war and the loss of the core drove her into madness, leading her to devise a twisted plan. This plan involved the gradual death of the poorest citizens of Amani.
A group of citizens began to suspect that she was killing her own people instead of fulfilling her role as a healer.
The game introduces Nashla’s mental situation and her current objective (healing the wounded and sick Amani). After that, the government takes her away to give her a new objective and, consequently, the civil war begins.
What keeps the war between the Amani and the Avari?
The Avari are Amani dedicated to the study and the pursuit of knowledge in order to advance as a civilization. For years they have been asking to be allowed to experiment with Nashla, the last Aarendjin, which is being used to heal wounded people. After years of tension between the Amani government and the Avari, the civil war explodes thanks to the dead that Nashla is gradually leaving behind. The Avari and their followers feel superior and, under the command of Brab Talayi (their most incredible creation), revolt against the government.
The war will rage until one of the two sides wins.
Civil War
Civil war occurs throughout Amani city, with each module being in the possession of one of the factions or in conflict.
Evolution
At the beginning of the game, Nashla would be in a government-controlled area and would go to conflict zones to help quell the rebellion. Later she would move to purely Avari-controlled areas to return power to the government. We would see an evolution of combat in which Nashla first attacks weaker enemies with government support, and then attacks alone. The closer she gets to the Avari command center, more powerful the enemies she faces will be.
Although the Avari forces are decreasing as Nashla advances towards its objective, the government has been very weakened because of the rebellion. In addition, in the middle of the conflict, Nashla kills Amani and rebels indiscriminately.
Finally, Nashla suffocates the rebellion by finishing with Brab Talayi.
Different stages
Stage 1 -Start of the war:
The Avari and their followers rebel against the Amani government and the war begins. Slightly less than half of the Amani city modules come under the control of the Avari side, approximately the same number are retained by the government and the remaining are in conflict.
Stage 2 - Nashla enters the conflict:
Despite the fact that the Avari and rebel force was far superior in the disputed territories, the government managed to take control thanks to Nashla wiping out the rebels. The disputed areas would become part of the government again.
Stage 3 - The government advance:
The government forces regain territories thanks to Nashla (which advances unstoppably towards Brab Talayi) and manage to take the lead, even though their forces have been greatly depleted.
Stage 4 - The end of the war:
Nashla finishes off Brab Talayi and, with their leader fallen, the rebel side and the Avari surrender.
Relationship between Nashla and Disad
At the beginning of the game, the relationship between Nashla and Disad is good and Nashla follows Disad's instructions. As the game progresses, Nashla gradually pays less and less attention to Disad to the point of ignoring her completely. In the last part of the game, Disad gives all his power to Nashla and disappears.
At the end of the game, Nashla regains her sanity and obtains the status of the new goddess of balance, becoming one with Disad.
Nashla's mental state
Nashla's mental state is a bit touched since the beginning of the game. Her anger and madness are progressively increasing. At the end of the game, you can see how she returns to a good mental state by becoming one with Disad.
Nashla’s objective
Nashla's objective is to take revenge on those who finished off her sisters and took her core. Her main quest at first will be influenced by the indications given to her by Disad, but she will gradually pay less and less attention to these indications.
Although his quest is revenge, she will be obtaining core fragments until she can complete it.
Regaining her power
As Nashla progresses, she encounters powerful enemies that possess core fragments. Once she defeats them, she gains an increase in her power. Towards the end of the game, the goddess Disad grants her the remaining power, disappearing in the process and almost completing Nashla. She will be fully complete when she obtains the last core fragment by finishing Brab Talayi.
