West Coast Swing… a wonderfully smooth style of partner dance, participants often are described to be “floating on clouds.”
It originated around the 1930s and came to be at least in part due to the popularity of unstructured or circular-motion styles that were crowding the floors such as Lindy Hop, Jazz, Shag, Blues, and others. The community has recently grown tremendously due to efforts of community members creating local dance brands and sharing their skills and competition adventures with storytelling and humor via social media.
