UCLA **Volunteer Day Home**

There are nine (9) ways to participate in Volunteer Day on Oct. 10, 2020. Full descriptions for each session are listed below. You may sign up for multiple sessions and please note that times may overlap.

                8. Federal Election Worker: Recruitment and Education Session.
                9. Panel on Foster Youth with the UCLA Alumni Silicon Beach Network

1. Educational Webinar Sessions

Although we will not be able to come together to perform service this year, our goal is to continue to spread the theme of volunteerism while also providing educational sessions on 6 important topics. Registration for the virtual educational sessions listed below is open to everyone and will be a great way for community members to learn more about the societal issues that affect all of us everyday. Please feel free to register for as many sessions as you would like.

Voter Registration / Suppression (10am - 11am PST)

Continuing Service Work with Community Service Commission (CSC) (12:30pm - 1:30pm PST)

Health Effects of COVID-19 in Minority Communities (1:45pm - 2:45pm PST)

How to Effectively Protest (4:15pm - 5:15pm PST)

2. Non-Profit Project Sessions

One of the main goals of UCLA Volunteer Day is to foster and create a life long commitment to volunteerism for our community members. A vital part of promoting that commitment is creating the connection between our volunteers and the non-profit organizations that we partner with. Listed below are non-profit organizations that will have a virtual presentation on UCLA Volunteer Day 2020 via Zoom. Please register to join in on a zoom session and to find out more information about how you can get involved with volunteer opportunities during this time. Please feel free to register for as many sessions as you would like (times will vary).

October Blood and Platelet Donation Pledge:

Did you know that 1 donation can potentially save up to 3 lives? Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Less than 38 percent of the population is eligible to give blood or platelets. Blood and platelet donations are greatly needed within the United States.
