Mission

The pervasive pressures of the competitive culture of research environments, the philosophy of ‘publish or perish’, structural issues and systemic biases, career uncertainty, and lack of access to support are some of the major drivers of mental health issues for students, fellows, and early career faculty (ECRs).

These drivers make succeeding as gastroenterology and hepatology researchers and health professionals more difficult and, for some, impossible. This is especially true for people who face heightened barriers due to their race, gender, orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, age, and/or other intersections of identity and lived experience.

Our Wellness Committee, which will include student, fellow, and ECR representatives once the first TRIANGLE cohort begins in January 2023, focuses on:

2023 Wellness Programming

Becoming a Resilient Scientist Program (January & February 2023)

TRIANGLE Annual Meeting (March 2023)

Other Programming (April-December 2023)
