First Step

Welcome to our Contributor Handbook. This is the go-to place where we post all of our resources to help you get started and successfully contribute to NEAR.

If you are here, you joined NEAR as contributor to either of the following roles (or multiple):

• Guild Lead (Contributor Program)
• Developer (Contributor Program)
• Writer (You can be part of the Contributor or the Guild Program)

If you contribute constructively to NEAR by helping us educate about web3, open-source, and the open web, and help us improve the platform and ecosystem, then you are a contributor.

Second Step

Please make sure that you are sign-ed up to our Portal. Once you are signed-up, please make sure to register for the Contributors or Guild Group. This allows you to receive custom content for each group.

Third Step

Now, before you are reading on and familiarise yourself with the resources provided, please take a few minutes to introduce yourself on our Portal.

We are quite a diverse group from all places, with different interests and skills — part of the contributor program is to co-learn about web3, open web, and open source and share your insights. Please introduce yourself in the channel with:

• Name
• Location
• What excites you (technical, web3-specific, hobbies, skills etc.)
• What you want to work towards at NEAR
• And how you can help other contributors (this is especially important so that other contributors know for what they should contact you).
