Welcome and thanks for your interest in the Bullets and Brimstone Project.

This was originally intended to be a commercial product created solely by me (Mitchell Smallman, now Project Admin for this project), but my passion for open-source gaming and desire to see this game played by as many people as possible overtook my desire to make a little money from it.

So now we have a community-driven world for a brand new RPG, and I hope once you read through, you’re as excited as I am.

The Pitch

Bullets and Brimstone is a Wild West inspired fantasy world that is intended to play like your favorite RPGs but feel like a pulp Western movie.

This is a game for all of you GMs whose players keep asking how they can use guns in your game. This is a game where the black and white simplicity of sword and sorcery storytelling becomes a different, yet still familiar story of frontier good vs. evil. Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, spellcasters, and exploring ancient and forgotten places are all here. But so are train heists, showdowns at high noon, people flying through windows in saloon brawls, and the bond between a hero and his horse. (Or his Warg, if that’s more your thing.)

How It Works

Bullets and Brimsone (aka B&B) is a system-agnostic setting. If you are the type who likes to homebrew a lot of stuff for your favourite system, you can read about the world, its style, and its themes, and get started right away. If you want less work and more guidance, the Project is currently developing playtest materials with details on how to run them with some popular and/or recommended systems, with open SRDs
