Emotion: Memory
Use 1 switch to control 2 or more neopixels, one for each emotion, with neopixels on the CPX board.
Description:
In this project, there will be 3 different kinds of LED states, and I use the three LED states to interpret 3 emotional states, they are all controlled by the momentary switch. When the users are not touching the switch, there will be showing LED state 1, which has two neopixels on the microcontroller start light up in a warm white color. When the users press the switch once, LED state 2 could be triggered, one of the two neopixels will start having yellow slow breathing light. when the users press the switch one more time, LED state 3 could be triggered, the other neopixels will start having flashing blue light. And one more press could bring the neopixels back to the LED state 1.
Design Language Interpretation:
LED state 1: Warm White Light (Default State)
Emotional Interpretation: Calmness and Nostalgia
This state appears when the user is not interacting with the switch. The two warm white neopixels represent the constant presence of memory in our lives. It symbolizes peaceful, quiet recollections, just like memories that stay with us gently, providing warmth and familiarity without demanding attention.
LED state 2: Yellow Breathing Light (First Press)
Emotional Interpretation: Immersion and Reflection
Triggered by the first press, one neopixel starts to breathe with a slow yellow light. This represents the process of consciously revisiting a memory. The gentle pulsing mimics the rhythm of deep thought or emotional engagement, suggesting a soft but persistent emotional wave as we become immersed in a specific moment from the past.
LED state 3: Blue Flashing Light (Second Press)
Emotional Interpretation: Emotional Overwhelm or Sudden Recall
With a second press, the other neopixel begins flashing blue. This state represents sudden or disruptive memories with those that come back forcefully, sometimes bringing intense emotions like sadness, anxiety, or longing. The sharp, flashing light conveys emotional tension and the unpredictable nature of memory.
