Continuing about logo design.

Logomarks are typically used to represent a brand in a quick and easy to understand way, they are also used as something for the brand to be recognised/identified from.

Geometric Design Task

Task to create a design for our initials and an icon for an animal using only circles, triangles and squares. As I could only adjust the size of the shapes and not the actual shape, for my initials i focused on layering to remove sections of a shape rather than just combining the shapes to make the letters. For both the J and M I started with a square, and then layered triangles and other squares on top to remove parts of the square to create the letterforms. I found the initials harder to create than the animal icon as I felt that because the letters have such specific shapes they were harder to create with limited shapes.

I found the animal icon significantly easier. I picked a pig to create an icon for as I felt it could easily be created using simple shapes, and because it was easily recognisable.
