This weeks lecture began with us as a class presenting our group work ideas to the whole class via the whiteboard. This was a good exercise for us to do to introduce us the module, as it gave us confidence to be able to talk in front of my peers and my lecturer. Me and my group mate Darach were the ones to present our project. We did it in sections. I presented the first two slides and all the content within it, while Darach explained the video of the prototype which was on the last slide. These presentations took up the whole morning to present.

Afterwards, we were given another group project to complete, which was Speculative Design. We were told to look ahead to the year 2050 and given a design task to create a product that could assist with a problem in that time period. This encouraged us to look at futuristic films such as - Back to the Future II, I,Robot and Total Recall etc. The exercise was to only take 2 hours to complete, so we had to think quickly about our idea. To aid us in our ideas, we covered the aims of Speculative Design:- Probable, Plausible, Probable, and Preferable.

In the end, we decided to expand on our idea on waste reduction/climate change and create a futuristic environmentally friendly house. The house would have solar panels on the roof which would control the batteries that are positioned under water, in the basement of the house to heat the water which in turn would supply the house with heat and warm water. Additional water from the rain would be filled in a large dish with a built-in filter to stop any debris from hitting the water, on the roof of the house. This water will then be collected in a purifier so people can drink and wash with. In conclusion, this would then be a daily cycle for surviving without the use of burning fossil fuels or relying on any harmful chemicals to fuel your house.
