• Kantian Ethics is a matter of logic (PRIORI type of knowledge)
• Categorical Imperative: “Act only in accordance to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law” ← rationalise action
• “Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never as a mere means to an end, but always at the same time as an end” ← Don’t just use people to achieve a goal
• Maxim: Rule of conduct
• How Kant thinks:

1. Consider an action X.
2. Imagine that everyone must do X. It is a universal law that must be followed at all times
3. Is there a logical contradiction in this conception?

a. Yes, contradiction exists: ACTION IS FORBIDDEN eg. queue jumping, lying

b. No contradiction: PERMISSABLE

You need to be rational and have autonomy to act rationally

2.5 Give comprehensive and thorough evaluations of computer systems and their impacts, including analysis of possible risks
