One sentence description:
Digital Archive
This project is a webcam-based application that captures, categorizes, and archives objects from your physical environment into a digital collection, which can be browsed through and selected to be arranged into a stylized collage using Nano Banana Model.
Digital Memory
This is an interactive web system that allows all users to hoard their memories into a digital space. Users can upload an image, write in their journal details, and the system will create a symbolic object that is added to a shared gallery. As more people contribute, the screen becomes a growing digital hoard of memories that is messy, playful, and personal.
Project summary:
Jane: Through this project, I wanted to explore the relationship between physical possessions and digital memory by creating a playful system that allows users to collect and archive their everyday objects. By using the webcam, the user can capture a photo of their item such as an empty juice bottle, a snack packaging, a magazine cover, a clothing tag, a receipt…etc, and the system will remove the background of the image, only leaving the object. Then, Gemini will identify the object and classify it in one of the categories (such as Food, Drinks, Tech, Tools, Toys…etc).
[const combinedPrompt = "Look at this image and do two things: 1) Identify what object you see (respond with only the object name in English, e.g., 'water bottle', 'coffee mug', 'pencil'). 2) Categorize it into one of these categories: Food, Drinks, Kitchen, Tech, Tools, Toys, Clothing, Makeup, Toiletries, Art, Plants, Instruments, Sports, Decoration, Accessories, Pet, Stationary, Paper goods, Packaging, Medical, Miscellaneous, or Uncategorized if it doesn't fit. Respond in this exact format: 'OBJECT_NAME|CATEGORY' (e.g., 'water bottle|Drinks' or 'pencil|Stationary')."]
