Jaclyn’s Dropshipping Store Project: Week 1 Update

Note: This is the first update for a month-long project I’ve been working on for a professional and personal development program called Praxis. For the month of May, I’m going to be building a dropshipping store from scratch using Shopify, Spocket, and a variety of other tech tools. Additionally, I’ll be learning from a variety of dropshipping courses, experimenting with Facebook ads, and optimizing my store for SEO.

If you want to learn more, check out the landing page for this project that I created.

Goals for This Month

Skills I Gained This Week

I learned how to create a project management system in Notion. I created a Kanban board in Notion with custom properties to keep track of the tasks I’m working on each week.

I learned how to find products shipped from the US on Aliexpress, as well as alternatives to Aliexpress. The best alternative to Aliexpress I found was Spocket, a platform that ships high-quality products from the US and Europe in just a few days, instead of a month like Aliexpress.

I learned how to research niches and source products for dropshipping.

What I Accomplished This Week

I wrote a blog post on product sourcing/research and choosing a niche. I created a project outline and landing page to showcase my work. I’ll be updating the landing page as I progress with the project.

I also started learning about ecommerce with Kevin Zhang’s Ecomm Millionaire Mastery course and Sarah Chrisp’s Ecomm Clubhouse course.
