Idea came from interaction with my semitechnical grandma. Shes savvy enough to operate iPad but doesn’t always connect the dots how things interact with eachother. App invitations, settings, software updates. I believe we have a limited time with our close ones and I noticed that much of that time sometimes goes wasted on technical support that could be outsourced to GPT. Its quite amazing what you get for $20 a month with vision and voice capabilities.
During my internship I noticed that its quite hard to create something truly useful with AI that goes beyond automation and saving time.
I noticed that most of AI developments today focus mainly on younger target at time when we are facing aging population.
I would like to create something useful for people on the edges and make their life easier.
How does it relate to Graphic Design though?
I was thinking about creating personalised assistant that could help with daily tasks but also help to go trough troublesome interfaces with ease of using voice.
Another idea was to take Responsive Design to new level and instead of focusing on the specific device focus on tailoring design aspect the user itself. This could for example be based on visual cues like squinting eyes that would trigger zoom or glasses use that would trigger bigger font.
Manifesto Design and tools should meet people where they are: using plain words, familiar rhythms, and honouring memory. Value orientation over novelty, dignity over speed, clarity over friction. I believe confusion is a design debt, not an individual failure.
New tools give us a chance to simplify interfaces and let them adapt dynamically to different people in different moments. When we centre understanding, not features, we can build tools that include those at the edges, and help us keep pace together as the world accelerates.
