My personal portfolio has been through 3 major versions, in Webflow, Squarespace, and now Framer. Over time I’ve gotten bolder and better at taking a step back and viewing the website as if I were someone else - turns out people don’t like to be critics of personal portfolios, so I had to do that for myself.

In version 1 I experimented with movement in JS and scroll behavior (using Webflow). Ultimately, updating and writing project pages was more complicated than it was worth, and I leaned heavily on Webflow tutorials to do most things, so I decided to move onto a different website builder.

For version 2 I was into animating elements and whitespace, I liked the look of floating elements. At first I wanted to use a template for ease, so I jumped onto Squarespace, but quickly realized none of the templates did what I wanted them to do. So, I custom-made the entire website, which is not exactly the thing to be doing in Squarespace. I ultimately decided the website was boring, so I moved onto the next.

For the current version, I’ve been loving the immersive experience of the video header, option to play music, and the kiwi in the footer. Had a lot of fun designing the sections with elements that animate on scroll and the typewriter effect. Also, thanks to Framer components and Notion, it’s easy to add new projects.
