Wavenote ("the App") is a voice recording and transcription app developed by Eduard Sergiu Stefan. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is collected, all uses of that data, and how third-party services handle your information.

What Data the App Collects

The App collects the following data types:

Audio Data (Voice Recordings)

When you record a voice note, the App captures audio through your device's microphone and stores it locally on your device.

Transcript Text

When you use the transcription feature, the resulting text transcript is stored locally on your device.

Summaries and Action Items

When you use the summary feature, the generated summary, key points, and action items are stored locally on your device.

How Data Is Collected

• Audio is recorded through the device microphone when you press the Record button.
• Transcripts are generated by sending your audio to a third-party transcription service (see below).
• Summaries are generated by sending your transcript text to a third-party AI service (see below).

All data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud backup within the App, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's privacy terms.

Data Shared with Third-Party AI Services

The App offers AI-powered features that require you to provide your own API keys ("Bring Your Own Key" model). When you use these features, certain data is sent from your device directly to third-party services. The App asks for your explicit consent each time before sending data to any third-party service.

What Is Sent, To Whom, and Why

• AssemblyAI — When you tap "Transcribe" and confirm, your audio recording file is sent to AssemblyAI's servers for speech-to-text transcription and speaker identification. No other data is sent. See AssemblyAI's Privacy Policy.
• ElevenLabs — If selected as your transcription provider, when you tap "Transcribe" and confirm, your audio recording file is sent to ElevenLabs' servers for speech-to-text transcription. No other data is sent. See ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy.
