Warpcast, like Farcaster, uses a hybrid approach to handle user data:

  1. On-chain Data: Actions that require security and consistency, such as creating an account, paying rent to store data, or adding account keys for connected apps, are performed on-chain1.
  2. Off-chain Data: The majority of user actions, such as posting a new public message, following users, or reacting to posts, are performed off-chain through a peer-to-peer network of servers called Hubs1.

Warpcast builds upon the Farcaster protocol by offering application-specific functionalities and a user-friendly platform. It empowers users by giving them control over their connections.

As for the location feature, Warpcast currently does not have a built-in geolocation feature5. However, Warpcast has the concept of channels, which could potentially be used to create location-based communities or discussions. Please note that this is speculative and not a confirmed feature of Warpcast.
