Designing a scalable lead-generation system for high-trust financial content

Overview

After Credible took over WSJ Buy Side, the finance section had strong editorial authority and high-intent readership but no dedicated monetization or lead-generation components embedded into articles. Readers were consuming in-depth guidance on financial topics, but there were limited pathways to convert that intent into action.

I partnered with Product Management, Marketing, SEO, and Editorial teams to define and execute a monetization strategy focused on improving lead generation and conversion, while preserving the credibility and integrity of WSJ’s editorial experience.

The Business Problem

WSJ Buy Side finance articles faced three core issues:

  1. High intent, low capture
  2. No scalable monetization framework
  3. Strict editorial trust constraints
