In Rhino, after building the simple unit of the scale, I used array to repeat it and make it into a group of scales.

The printing was not going on well at the beginning as I am using the leaning models and the weight and the angle made it harder to print stably. So I finally switched to a straight standing model. Also, after lots of trials and failures, I realized that the cloth should be attached really tight or it would make the whole printing move and thus screw it up. I attached the cloth more tightly and I created a stronger brim for the part to be connected better to the plate during the printing.
