Assignment 1 - SOFT SWITCH - Textiles

Due to the time limit for the late enrollment for swapping to the course, I started with a simple version for the soft switch following the guidance.

I started with practicing basic hand stitches and then start creating the circuit shown in the websites. It is the simple switch of putting the two conductive part together and lighting up the LED by connecting the circuits. The part which is differnet from the example is that I put the battery at the back of the fabric, which makes the front size cleaner.

In the process, the hard part that I met was to make the knots when ending a part of sewing, especially the part of making it neat. I tried making the parts more connected which leads to less knots on it and make the endings neat by using the nail polish. Also, I think this simple work kind of lack creativity and probably could be further developed in the future.
