What is the vision?

• Build an app called Covid Watch that alerts people to possible Covid-19 exposure. here's an oversimplified explanation:

  

• We are making one app that will be available internationally

• We contribute to a standard for secure exposure-alert apps called GAEN

  • This means all GAEN apps will be interoperable with each other
  • We are also compatible with Apple and Google's upcoming app

• We are working to increase adoption of secure exposure-alert apps

What terminology do I use for talking about Covid Watch?

We intentionally use "Covid," not "COVID," both in our name and when referring to Covid-19, as it is less alarming and is an accepted styling of the term.

We perform "exposure notifications." Not "contact tracing,." The terms "tracing" and "tracking" should not be in our vocabularies (note that we did not use this distinction early on, so our older documents may not be up-to-date on this. It is imperative that we make it clear that we never trace who is sick. We only alert people to exposure. You can learn more by reading this article.
