Our volunteer agreement captures all of the essentials we expect from our team members. We review our agreements before every event.

Here are your two simple agreements:

  1. Maintain a great attitude and be a thoughtful leader.
  2. Be proactive. Be responsible for knowing things, having great ideas, & doing great work instead of asking other people what to do.

They correlate to the table of contents of this agreement:

1. I Agree To These Maintain These Attitudes

These agreements exist not because we intend on enforcing them, but so that you have an internal guideline and measuring device to determine how well you are performing against a set of principles. We all agree to uphold these on behalf of a mission that is larger than ourselves.

We all want to enjoy working for TEDxCOS because we’re not getting paid, and each of us independently following these guidelines as best we can allows the whole team to thrive.

I will be a thoughtful representative of the brand

I will...

  1. Deal with all of the people on our team and that I meet in the world with kindness, grace, empathy, and compassion above all else. I will take personal responsibility for making sure everyone who interacts with me in my capacity volunteering for TEDxColoradoSprings experiences my best self. I will be thoughtful, respectful, kind, and bring value to all my interactions.
  2. I will speak kindly of everyone at all times in public. I will only offer constructive criticism to someone with their permission and in private, and I will invite feedback to learn how I can better serve. I will not talk about people who are not in the room.Type your initials here:
  3. I will have a positive attitude about whatever happens, and when things go wrong, I will seek to find solutions quickly, through the appropriate channels, and without fuss. I will never complain.
  4. If anything is ever unclear about my role, how I should solve problems, what problems I have authority to solve, or anything of that sort, I will ask a veteran volunteer as quickly as I can
  5. I will wear my blindingly-bright-red TEDxColoradoSprings tee shirt as often as possible and encourage people to visit the website and sign up to buy tickets whenever they mention it to me!

I will be a valuable member of the team
