Visitors and Mid-Week Leader Changes

Adult changeovers and visitors must be pre-planned and listed on the unit roster.

Where to go when you arrive

Incoming adults MUST check in at the camp office. When you arrive at Camp Meriwether you will see the gate. If the gate is closed please use the button to call for the gate code. Beyond the gate, follow the signs for Meriwether delivery.

Checking-in

Check-in at Discovery lodge (dining hall). This building also holds our Medical office, Business office, Dining Hall, Trading Post, and restrooms. Upon arrival and before packing in gear, feel free to use our short term parking in front of the Business Office while you are checking in. Once checked in, go back the way you came in, keep right at the gate to our main parking lot. This is where you will park while you are staying at Camp Meriwether. (Please do not drive through camp)

After checking in with the business office you will step next door with your medical and have a quick medical recheck.

Two-deep leadership is required by youth protection standards

Troops who are switching adult leadership mid-week must ensure that there are always two adult leaders per unit in camp, and that both of those two adult leaders is over 21 years old, is currently a registered member of the unit, and has current Youth Protection training.

Inner camp roads are closed

Camp roads inside camp are closed to vehicles for safety reasons. Leaders arriving mid-week will please plan to pack lightly, as gear will need to be carried into camp. Some leaders bring a wagon or cart, and often troops will send Scouts to help carry a leader's gear. If additional help is needed, please notify the camp office when you check in.

Meal fees

If your troop has not paid for you as part of their check-in at the beginning of the week you will need to plan to pay in the camp trading post or office for the time you will be at camp.

If you do not wish to eat a meal with us you still need to pay for the time you are at camp. Meals are $10 each, and overnight visitors pay $40/night including meals.

Medical form

If you are staying 72 hours you will also need to make sure the troop has given camp your Youth Protection and proof that your registration is current.

After checking in with the business office you will step next door with your medical and have a quick medical recheck.

Early departures

If you are leaving camp before Saturday morning dismissal, please check out at the business office.
