The task was to redesign a Vault—a digital space meant to store and manage property-related documents—into a more meaningful and usable product for modern users.
The challenge was not just to improve the interface, but to rethink how the system works, ensuring it solves real user problems rather than just organizing information.
Vault was originally designed as a digital locker for property documents, bringing scattered files like sale deeds, tax receipts, and certificates into one place.
However, in its current form, it behaves like a passive storage system—users upload and retrieve documents, but the system itself does not actively help them manage or understand their property status.
The primary user is a multi-property owner—someone who owns multiple properties but is not an expert in legal or technical processes.
They value simplicity and clarity, don’t have time to manage documents manually, and often feel uncertain about whether everything related to their property is in order.
