Categories and Tags tell SportsBlog and your readers what your post is about. They work just like categories and tags on any other blog, but SportsBlog’s Categories and tags have some additional features and uses.

What are Categories and Tags?

Categories

Categories are used to file posts by sport or league. They’re the biggest “buckets” you can use to group posts. Our most popular categories have pages that feature great posts about that sport or league published by the SportsBlog community. Here are some examples of those pages:

Adding a Category

To add to change a category on a blog post, select one in the Publish menu when you're editing your post. Because a category is required, you won't be able to publish your post until you have selected one.

Tags

Tags are for indicating more specific topics in your blog post like athletes and teams, but they can also be used for events like March Madness, Wimbledon, or the NFL Draft or for kinds of posts you may write repeatedly like recaps or NFL game previews.
