What is UserLens?

UserLens is an Atlassian Forge app that scans your Jira and Confluence users to identify ghost seats, licensed users with no recent activity. It helps IT leaders and finance teams understand their license utilization and find opportunities to optimize their Atlassian footprint.

UserLens is 100% read-only. It does not modify, delete, or create any content in your Atlassian instance.

Getting started

  1. Install UserLens from the Atlassian Marketplace
  2. Open Jira → Apps → UserLens
  3. Click "Run your first scan"
  4. Review your results on the Overview dashboard

That's it. No configuration required for the first scan. UserLens uses default settings (90-day ghost threshold) and scans both Jira and Confluence automatically.

Overview dashboard

A consolidated view of your license health across Jira and Confluence. Includes total ghost seats, utilization percentage, health grade, and a category breakdown (Active / At risk / Inactive / Ghost).

Use the Product dropdown to filter metrics by Jira or Confluence individually, or view all products together with cross-product deduplication.
